How can I uninstall FileCleaner?

Uninstalling FileCleaner Pro is just as easy as installing it:

Exit the program - select Exit from the program tray menu.
Go to the Control Panel and open "Add/Remove Programs" (“Uninstall a program” in Windows Vista and Windows 7). Find FileCleaner Pro, highlight it and click on the Uninstall button

What kind of history tracks can be cleaned with FileCleaner?

FileCleaner cleans all types of temporary files and history traces. It can clean browser history, browser cache (Temporary Internet Files), and cookies in Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome web browsers. In addition to that, FileCleaner Pro erases logs created by instant messaging programs, such as Yahoo! Messenger, MSN Messenger and Google Talk.

FileCleaner Pro also erases system temporary files in Temporary Folders (Temporary files directory), clipboard, Recycle Bin content and all other Windows history and log files to fully protect your privacy.

How can I enable the RealTime Protect feature?

If you want to enable RealTime Protect to erase browser and messenger history automatically, do the following:

Double-click on the FileCleaner tray icon

Click on the RealTime Protect button
Select the RealTime Protect checkbox
Then select the browsers and messengers you want FileCleaner to clean in real time and click on the Apply Changes button to confirm.

How can I erase AutoComplete forms?

AutoComplete is a browser feature that remembers everything you type in web pages, such as your personal details - your name, e-mail address, search engine keywords and sometimes even your credit card information. AutoComplete helps the user to fill in online forms by suggesting possible matches - you can simply press the down arrow key and select the text you want to enter. This is very convenient, but is also a big privacy threat. That’s because anyone who has access to your computer can see the drop down list with information you've typed. Furthermore, everyone can get access to the information and passwords using special software that allows viewing and managing password information.

To protect your passwords and form information, use FileCleaner Pro. How do I erase history in Internet Explorer manually?

To erase history in Internet Explorer:

Go to Tools and select Internet Options.
The Internet Options dialog window will appear.
On the General tab, click "Clear history".
Click "OK" to erase history.

In Internet Explorer even if you erase history manually, index.dat file stores information where you have been online. This file can't be deleted manually as it is used by Windows all the time. What are index.dat files?

Index.dat files are cache files used by Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer saves information about web pages you visit: full address of website/page and the time of your visit in several different index.dat files. Index.dat files can't be deleted manually, as they are used by Windows all the time.

FileCleaner allows you to delete the content of index.dat files along with history, cache and cookies.

What are cookies?

Websites can store small files called “cookies” on your computer. Cookies are created to help websites recognize users when they return to a website, so that the websites can offer customized content to the certain user. This makes using the websites more convenient. How can I erase cookies in Mozilla Firefox manually?
